Danbury Trojans Youth Football

The Danbury Trojans are proud to be Danbury’s premier Division 1 youth football program. As a nationally recognized organization in the Southern Connecticut Pop Warner League, we are committed to developing young athletes both on and off the field. Our program serves athletes ages 5–13 and provides a supportive, competitive environment where children can build skills, confidence, and a love for the game.

At Danbury Trojans, athletes learn more than football. Through practice, competition, and teamwork, they develop sportsmanship, discipline, commitment, physical fitness, confidence, and character. Whether your child is just getting started or looking to take their game to the next level, our program is designed to help every athlete grow and succeed.

The 2026 season marks the 48th year of Danbury Trojan Football & Cheer in Danbury — a proud tradition built on excellence, community pride, and youth development.

Girls NFL Flag Football

We are excited to announce the launch of our very first Girls NFL Flag Football League, proudly run by DAYO! This inaugural season marks an important step in growing opportunities for young female athletes to learn, compete, and thrive in one of the fastest-growing sports in the country.

Flag football is more than just a game—it builds confidence, teamwork, discipline, and leadership. Athletes will develop core fundamentals such as passing, catching, route running, defensive positioning, and overall game awareness, all while fostering a love for the sport in a supportive and empowering environment.

The program will officially begin on July 15th and will run at a minimum of two days per week, providing consistent opportunities for skill development and gameplay. We understand that many of our athletes are multi-sport participants. Any player currently involved in another sport should communicate with the commissioner of that program to coordinate schedules and ensure they can fully participate without taking away from their other commitments.

To create balanced and competitive play, the league will be divided into two age levels:

10U Division: Ages 8, 9, and 10

12U Division: Ages 10, 11, and 12

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of something new and meaningful from the very beginning. We look forward to building a strong foundation for girls flag football in our community and can’t wait to see our athletes take the field!

Danbury Trojans 2026 Tackle Football - REGISTRATION

D.A.Y.O. is the sponsor of the nationally renowned Danbury Trojans Pop Warner football program. The Trojans have consistently won league, state, regional, and even national championships. The D.A.Y.O. Pop Warner football program is acknowledged to be among the best in the country. This year we are celebrating our 48th year serving the children in the community. Pop Warner football is offered on six levels for boys and girls ages five to thirteen. The teams are matched by age levels. At the lower level, the emphasis is on the fundamentals of the sport. As the athletes advance through the program, they learn the finer aspects of the game, and increase their understanding of the importance of individual performance in the context of teamwork. Every position is equally important to the success of the play. Football is a physically demanding sport. Top conditioning is stressed from the first day with running, calisthenics, and drills. The players are outfitted with the best protective equipment available, and are carefully monitored by the coaching staff. Each season our coaches attend training clinics to stay informed on the latest teaching technics for youth football. All coaches are required to complete the NFL/USA Football Heads Up Program. Football is also mentally demanding. Each player is required to memorize and execute a variety of plays and frequently in a number of different positions. In addition, he or she must be constantly aware of changes on the field and quickly adjust to provide the appropriate response. The program begins July 15th and ends in the fall. Practices are held in the evening during the week with games played on the weekends. At the end of the season each player's contribution is recognized along with their team accomplishments. Placement of players onto rosters is at sole discretion of the football commissioner. Players age, and experience are factors in determining team assignment in the interest of safety and where child will have the most success.
