D.A.Y.O. Danbury Youth Lacrosse

Danbury Athletic Youth Organization  for BOYS and GIRLS K-8 Indoor Winter Clinic.

Want to learn more about Lacrosse?

Lacrosse is a team sport played with a lacrosse stick and a lacrosse ball. It is the oldest organized sport in North America, with its origins in a tribal game played by eastern Woodlands indigenous peoples and by some Plains Indians tribes in what is now the United States of America and Canada.

The fastest growing sport in the United States, it is now played across the country. Skills from other sports translate well into lacrosse. It it played on a field the size of a football field, it has the team defense of basketball, substitutions on the fly like hockey, and more.

Fast paced, high scoring matches are not uncommon, lacrosse appeals to many different types of athletes.

In Danbury, we start the kids off in 1st and 2nd grade for boys and girls, with weekly clinics on Saturday Mornings running April to June.

Older kids can play on travel teams from 3rd through 8th grade - playing the surrounding towns and going to Jamborees in the area.
