Hubert Parris, Commissioner- Sprints & Field Events

Coach Parris is one of the founding members of our program. He has been coaching youth sports since 2003, and has been USA Track and Field Level 1 certified, since 2010.  He started coaching track and field as an assistance with the White Plains Future Stars in 2010. His sons are DAYO Lightning alumni and now runs for Brookfield High School.  His Daughter who got him started in coaching track, holds the 200 M, and 400 M records at Brookfield High.  She competed at Boston University and was on the 4 X 400 team that holds the School record. She completed her undergraduate degree at Boston University in 2017, and received her DPT in 2019. 

Coach Parris brings passion to teaching young athletes proper technique and loves to help each athlete realize their unique ability and reach their potential. 

Coach Parris played football at New Rochelle High Schools, and Central Ct. State University where he received All-New England Defensive Back recognition. 

Hubert has been married to his wife for over 27 years and has four children.  Hubert stays actively involved with his church and has been with his company for over 30 years where he is a Financial Advisor with Barnum Financial Group, a MassMutual Firm.

Darren Joseph, Coach- Distance & Field Events

Coach Joseph has been with the program since its inception in 2011 and has over 25 years of experience working with youth organizations in CT and NY in a variety of roles.  He is the current Commissioner of DAYO Football, and has been involved as a coach and parent volunteer with D.A.Y.O. for the past 13 years, coaching T-Ball, Flag Football, and Tackle Football, in addition to his work with Track & Field.  Most recently, Coach Joseph was selected as a Coach to represent the New England Region at the Hershey North America Final Track and Field event in Hershey, PA. He continues to enjoy volunteering and welcomes the opportunity to introduce children to the sport of Track and Field and build character though competition and hard work.

As a past competitive Track and Field runner, coach Joseph was part of a relay team that holds the 4 x 440 record at The Armory Track in NYC. Darren is a Network Infrastructure  Engineer. 

Catrina Watson, Team Mom - Administrator

Team Mom Watson has been with the program since its inception in 2011 and plays a key role in coordinating team activities and parent interaction during practices and meets.  Her son, Terrell, is a DAYO Lightning Alumnus where he holds records. He ran Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track at Danbury High School. He was recruited by many Division 1 Universities and ran for University of Ct.

Craig Kelly, Coach- Throws

Coach Kelly Is the newest member to our coaching staff.

Kelly Cruz, Coach - Distance

Coach Cruz has been a part of the program since Indoor 2018.  She is new to Track and Field and has a passion for working with the younger athletes.  Kelly has a love for learning about the different areas of track and field and continues to expand her knowledge of the sport. Kelly is married and has two athletes in the program.  

Kenson O' Donald, Coach - Sprints

Coach O' Donald Joined the team during the indoor 2018 season.  Kenson ran track in Barbados WI where he competed in Sprints and Jumps.  With a desire to have a better academic understanding of the sport he got is USATF Certification prior to becoming a coach.  Coach O is married and has three children of which is in the program.  Coach is actively involve with his church and is a Software engineer.
